Tee shirt with foolish WT quotes, I will wear to reunion with witnesses
by dawg inas many of you know, i've been writing letters to family members telling them how damn stupid i think the gb is; providing proofs of all their comedic gaffs (building mansions for prophets and the like) including some of their most outlandish quotes-which i know all of us can remember verbatim.
spurned on by mary and others in this site, i've decided that i will try a new ploy.
my family reunion is every labor day and i've decided to wear a tee shirt to it with russell, rutherford, and franz's images on it... i will include images of a pyramid, beth sarim, on the front and 607?

Older people in churches versus older people at the Kingdom Hall
by TooBad TooSad inon a recent post the poster yadayadda made a comment about the subject that really got me thinking.. i recently attended a "worldly" wedding where there were alot of older people who attend those "pagan".
churches.
it was so good to see how happy they were.

I attend a catholic church, the old ladies there are Awesome!! when I was single they all tried fixing me up with their granddaughters. I just remember feeling how free the air was inside the church, nothing like the kingdumb hall, everyone looks happy and lots of activities, and you sit back and do not feel like people are judging you.
There is this one really cute old couple who sit up in the front, the wife is always poking the old man when he begins to fall asleep, its so funny

Airline worker returns $266,000 bag of lost jewelry - and he wasn't even JW
by Gopher inhttp://www.startribune.com/484/story/1243392.html.
kansas city, mo.
a national jewelry store chain is looking for a "nice way'' to thank a midwest airlines employee who found a cargo bag with $266,000 worth of jewelry inside and took it to police.

Ok you know what JW's are not all that honest
I know this story of this JW elder who worked for a company owned by another JW and he charged up on the company credit for his personal use, thinking that it wouldn't be any big deal because the owner was a JW, seems like he just took advantage of the situation, the JW business owner refused to press charges, and fired the guy.
Guess in the end he got away with it.

JW Jargon
by Scully ini mentioned in an earlier post that i had a visit the other day from a former friend, a jw woman, who wanted to invite me to the district convention on the weekend.
i almost got the impression from her casual dress that it was a social visit, until she whipped out the tract.
one thing that i noticed was her trying to soft pedal the jw jargon that is practically second nature to jws.. she talked about how one of her kids was "gone" for a few years, but had recently "come back to us" and that she was happy to have her child's company again.

Jargon I know,
Unbeliever(of free mind), Disfellowshiped(they kicked your ass out), Worldly, Encouragement (trying to make you come back), Demonistic(anything outside of the Org.), New Order (not the band), system of things, the friends(cult members), tracts, the Brothers, inactive (your fading, fading) and finally Apostate (me)

JWs and Love towards their families
by R.F. inthis is something that just popped in my mind suddenly.. but i was thinking about over the years the many comments of jws about loved ones.
for instance, one sister was speaking of her disgust with her children not accepting the "truth".
she gladly tells anyone of what she told them; that if they don't accept it before armageddon that it's too bad.

Can anyone tell me why JW's never visit the dead? or is it just my crazy family, seems that all the JW's never go leave flowers at the cemetary or anything, I don't even think that my brothers and sisters know where I burried my dad?

You could get disfellowshipped if you come out of a convenience store with.
by JH inyou could get disfellowshipped if you come out of a convenience store with nothing in your hands !!!.
i just thought about that.
i just went to buy a lottery ticket at the convenience store, and put it in my back pocket right away, incase some jw would see me come out of the convenience store with that in my hands....but then i was thinking, probably if an elder saw me come out of a convenience store with nothing in my hands, no bag, nothing, they would probably figure out that i bought something that i stashed in my pocket, like a lottery ticket.... so, it's very dangerous to exit a convenience store with nothing in your hands !!

How many other religion do members worry about little stuff like this? what a cult, well I guess if a mormon was seen coming out of a store with a coke or coffee in his hand that would be pretty bad huhh?

ADVICE PLEASE. No lit for ex-JW - I have to put an ultimatum to my wife.
by jambon1 inif it is true that it has been announced that ex-jw`s are not to get the study watchtowers, then i must put an ultimatum to my wife.
i look through the wt's at the moment to gauge any radical teachings that i may need to counter with my 2 kids.
if my wife rewfuses to give me the 'secret' wt's then im afraid that it is the end of her taking them to the meetings.

that sounds kind of scary, what secrets are they keeping, I mean you can't get any more cult like then that, is it the secret Koolaide recipe?
